Sunday afternoon in New York

Perfect Sunday afternoon. Brunch with Brian at Cornelia Street Cafe and after we browsed the stores in the West Village. He mentioned how he had never seen Central Park in the fall when the leaves change colors so we migrated uptown. Just walked around and did some people watching while sitting on the rocks.

I loove when the holiday decorations start trickling in, they make me feel so happy.

This little boy was cracking me up. Just the way he was rappelling down the rocks reminded me of Spider Man.

Last chance at Love for Halloween

An outfit I wore recently that is probably going to be the last time I wear this much color for the season. J.Crew had the cutest triple pack of colored ankle socks over the summer and I couldn't refuse, especially these cobalt blue ones. I also picked up the hot pink ones which I need to wear before it gets too cold out for skirts! I'm wearing a skirt that I bought in high school six years ago and the most comfortable heels I own.

Uniqlo trench, J.Crew tshirt & socks, Marc by Marc Jacobs skirt, Chloe shoes

I'm a bit late with the Halloween pictures, but here they are. I took all my stuff to get ready at my friend's apartment and of course I forgot the most important element of my Lady Gaga outfit, my sequined moto jacket. Argh, but at least I made a hair bow and that helped people recognize who I was :/ otherwise I probably looked like an aerobics girl.

I have to give some major kudos to my friend Nicole who was the Queen of Hearts. She made practically everything..the crown, the card collar as well as a feather collar she added for more drama. Her makeup was badass too.

The guy on the left was Wesley AND Buttercup from the Princess Bride! She's attached to him hahaha.
Nicole works for Pamela Love and I absolutely love the crow skull necklace which are sold out in most boutiques so she graciously hooked me up with a silver one. I LOVE.

Glimpses

Welcome to my home

Visionaire 50th issue nesting dolls
I have a habit of smoking half a cigarette and saving the rest for later. People have told me that this is gross..

Part of my shoe collection

some of my "shi shi" books, unopened mini champagnes I received for my 21st birthday
A print Richard Kern gave to me when I was working for him, I have been keeping this safe for over a year now I should really get it framed because it's amazing and from his earlier work which I looove.
"for like ever" poster made famous by a Domino issue, art books, and my little headless doll that I found in an antique store downtown.
my other cat, Crumb, who is kind of a bitch
A pigeon skeleton that was a birthday present, inside joke. His name is Leonard.
vintage Playboys, photo of my mother and I from my first trip to Korea 14 years ago
My favorite Cynthia Rowley mug, it's huge.
I'm super lucky to have such an awesome view of the city. I can see north, west all the way to New Jersey, and east to Brooklyn and Queens.

Black tie

Last night my parents and I attended a KACF gala in the city which was an amazing event, very touching speeches and stories. It was a black tie occasion and I wanted to take advantage of the rare opportunity to dress up :) I went to Phillip Lim knowing I would be able to find something there..and I did! Asymmetric black silk and chiffon, with lace ruffle details. I love the contrast between the different materials. There was only about 25 minutes for me to get ready after class, so my hair and make-up were kind of sloppy haha, oh well.

I didn't bring my camera so my mom took a quick shot of me before.
Phillip Lim dress, YSL shoes, vintage beaded clutch, Isharya earrings

And for some more pretty things, I had dinner at Eleven Madison and these are the complimentary mini macarons and fruit pate they always give after dinner. The orange one was my favorite, tasted exactly like how fall should taste. A lot of restaurants do the truffles and macarons after dinner, but they're always so mediocre. Eleven Madison actually tastes like theirs are from a French bakery, mm!

Sky high

Since the weather's getting quite chilly I'm trying to squeeze in the last of my sandals, however these YSL Tribute heels are something I bought this weekend. They've been released season after season for some time now and I'm surprised I didn't buy a pair earlier, they're great and definitely the highest shoes I have right now. Tripping in these things would only result in horrific pain.

Zara embellished blazer, Topshop jeans, bracets by Cartier, Hermes, and BCBG
Halloween, my favorite holiday, is around the corner! What is everyone being?? Hopefully by this picture you can figure out who I'll dress up as..

cheers!

.....

A recent purchase, this super thin leather jacket that feels softer than cashmere and drapes beautifully. It has a sort of matte finish that makes it look delicate like fabric and from far away it looks like a sweater. Wearing with super wide leg pants I bought last winter when I had an obsession with this silhouette

Vince leather jacket, Kain shirt, Zimmerman pants, Chanel ring and watch.

This weekend I also threw another dinner party! Usually it's mostly girls but this time there were 5 guys that eat a ton so I made hearty fall comfort foods. Zucchini gratin, Julia Child's famous beef bourguignon recipe, and individual apple & cranberry crisps that were made with the apples that I picked. While they were baking my friend and I made a dash to a deli across the street for some vanilla ice-cream to scoop on top OMG so good, the hot and cold combination was out of this world. I highly recommend the bourguignon recipe even though it was a bit labor intensive and painful..hot oil was splattering all over me while I sauteed the beef. It was the first time I ever made it and even though I am usually not a fan of beef dishes this was as Rachel Zoe would say, ah-maaazing!

might look a bit unappetizing but the photo lies!

birthday boy got a candle :)

How do you like them apples?

This past weekend my parents and I went apple picking at this orchard we used to go to when I was a little kid. It's in upstate NY called Lawrence Farms. It drizzled a little but it was still a nice break away from the city and it was like a trip down memory lane. We picked a total of 17 bags (they like to give a lot to their friends) and now I have a nice supply of fresh apples, time for crisps and tarts!

feeding the goats that were VERY enthusiastic, clearly.

super long apple picker
I look so miserable but I was just tired and taking a break!
My mother and I some 18 years ago.
I wore a J.Crew jacket with a tshirt I got from Blacktooth, Zara jeans and new DKNY boots. They got scuffed up but I don't mind.
